Since the death of his wife, Santoshi is a shadow of his former self. After telling his daughter that he was going on the trail of a serial killer to collect the reward, he disappears. The mystery has only just begun.

In absolute terms, nothing should be said about this dramatic thriller and it should be mentioned in the vaguest possible terms so as not to spoil anything. Just point out that since his first feature film, Siblings of the Cape (2018), Shinzô Katayama has only consolidated his thematic and stylistic achievements. He attaches us to ambivalent characters, never ceases to reveal them in ever more raw and cruel lights. Well supported by his two co-writers to hold in masterly hand a gigogne story, he confirms his talents as an actor's director and poet of the sordid. As the revelations unfold, Missing could go too far into the gloomy, but it becomes all the more beautiful.
