Barely seventeen years old, Tina is in trouble: one night after a party, she starts to have horrible nightmares where a hideous creature is following her. Her parents don’t pay much attention to her problems and Tina finds herself forced to get over her fears and deal directly with her stalker.
Premier long-métrage du peintre et sculpteur allemand Akiz, plutôt porté sur le bizarre et l'organique, Der Nachtmahr annonce très vite la couleur : l'ambiance survoltée des fêtes électro, où la jeunesse aime se perdre le temps de nuits alcoolisées, va laisser place à un cauchemar toxique et quotidien. Ce basculement dans l'étrange évoque autant l'horreur psychologique à la Polanski que la violence des corps chez Cronenberg.
