Though it looks like some trash chronicles of youth gone wrong, We also has an implacable scriptwriting construction which unveils itself chapter after chapter. The staging goes perfectly with the characters, for a perfect immersion in this story of violence, extreme sexuality. In his first feature film, Rene Heller follows the lead of Paul Verhoeven's 1970s movies. Better still: he creates the film that Gus Van Sant, Larry Clark and Gregg Araki would have dreamed of making about today's youth.
