"One more day to Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, one more day to Halloween, SIL-VER-SHAM-ROCK". The advertising is on all channels, all over the United States. It hypnotizes children and gets on the nerves of the adults. Dr. Daniel Challis is one of the few to understand in this devilish ritornello a sinister countdown which may transform the night before All Saints' day into a ritual carnage.

With Michael Myers left to die at the end of the Halloween II, John Carpenter wanted to give a new direction to the Halloween saga. It eventually happened, with the failure of Halloween III by Tommy Lee Wallace (who then traumatised a generation of viewers in the late 1980s with the first adaptation of It). What a pity! This unfortunate third movie has loads of good horror ideas to reveal on the movie screen.
