The adaptation of the controversial book Lords of Chaos by Michael Moynihan and Didrik Søderlind is eventually handed to Jonas Åkerlund, though Sono Sion was expected to be in charge initially. Talented music video maker, director of the cult film Spun in 2002, former drummer of the Swedish black metal band Bathory, Åkerlund nevertheless chooses to leave his past aside to tell this story, distraught by the wave of violence which will have marked the history of Norway.
