Jimmy Cullen returns to his hometown after seven years of exile. Coincidentally, his father passes away shortly after his arrival. His last wish: to be buried on a day when it doesn't rain, which turns out to be rather complicated in this corner of Ireland.

After the selection of Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman's Extra Ordinary in 2019, the PIFFF insists that something quite unique is going on in Ireland in the very specific field of immersing comedy against the grain in genre cinema. With a consummate talent for capturing the frankly hostile atmosphere of the local villages, Redemption of a Rogue imposes a disconcerting rhythm and direction on its first sequences. Layers of absurdity and total nonsense are superimposed, and without being aware of it, we find ourselves laughing at tragic situations, impossible to tell. And you finish the film 30% more Irish than you started it.
