Ryan Braund "took advantage" of the confinement to throw himself into this rotoscoped animation film with a rather majestic purity. In doing so, he became the double of his character, and the film that of the antagonist. This dizzying mise en abyme did not lead him astray, however: Absolute Denial is a model of writing, of cutting, of storytelling held to its most extreme algorithmic derivations. It contributes to the eternal war between man and machine in a work that totally reflects this new decade. The device succeeds in the feat of never going in circles and maintaining interest with grace and relevance.
